Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I choose Youper?
Youper is the only mental health service that understands you and provides care that fits your unique needs, preferences, and budget. With or without insurance, Youper has an affordable plan for you.
You can start with digital therapy, choose to receive care from coaches and therapists who really listen to you, or get an evaluation and diagnosis from a doctor for prescribed medications.
No matter your plan, Youper is available 24/7 to support you wherever and whenever you need it.
Who are you?
We are clinicians, engineers, designers, and caregivers led by world-renowned therapist Andrea Niles, Ph.D., and psychiatrist Jose Hamilton, MD. Above all, we care deeply about your health and happiness. We have dedicated our lives to making mental health care accessible for everyone, one person at a time.
Why Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
We lead with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it’s been proven to be the most effective therapy for anxiety and depression. It helps you understand patterns in your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Once you find those patterns, CBT helps change your thinking, take control of your emotions, and change your behavior — to feel better and reclaim your life.
What about medication?
If you’re considering medication, you can subscribe to the Medication Plan, and schedule an appointment with a clinician for assessment, diagnosis, and prescription if needed. The Medication Plan is currently available in California and Texas, and we’re actively working through each State’s unique process to make it available in other states as well.
How long does it take to feel better?
People often see improvements in as little as two weeks, but everybody has their own timing, and we respect that. We’ll work together to figure out your unique timeline, then you'll set goals, check in regularly, and monitor your symptoms to see how you're progressing.
Can I cancel?
Yes, and we hope you do! When you’re feeling better, you can opt to move to one of our maintenance plans, or cancel your subscription at any time. You can also re-subscribe at a later date if you need it. We’ll be here for you.
How much does this cost?
You can get started for $3 per month.
Do you take insurance?
Youper is designed to be affordable with or without insurance. Most likely, your subscription will cost less than your insurance co-payments and without the hassle that insurance often brings.
How do I get started?
Start with an emotional health assessment so we can understand your needs and recommend the best care for you.
