The Emotional Atlas Project

The collaborative project about human emotions and behaviors

More than 45 million Americans suffer from emotional and behavioral health issues1, however mental health continues to be a hard topic to address. Studies show that it can take ten years for someone to find an effective solution when suffering from conditions like anxiety and depression2.

Youper is using artificial intelligence to analyze data and provide users with insights on how they can improve their moods and behaviors.

With the Emotional Atlas, Youper uses anonymous data donated by its users to generate populational insights to unlock a new understanding of human emotions and raise awareness about how important it is to take care of our emotional health.

Results are based on Youper users’ real-time feedback about their mood and the factors influencing them while using the app. The sample includes adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states who agreed to participate in the research. States in gray mean that the platform doesn't yet have enough data to show results.

The results are based on users' moods reported in the Youper App. The margin of sampling error for the states' ranking and mood factors proportion is ±0.10 points at the 95% confidence level.
